About Belladine Bonewell
Belladine, said BELL-uh-deen.
I write paranormal romance and romantic suspense with a funny narrator and something dangerous underneath: slow-burn love stories, two people who've loved each other before and don't remember it, and a Texas Hill Country ranch that keeps its secrets. If you like a heroine who jokes her way through the dark, you're in the right place.

behind the stories
From the classroom to the page
I graduated and married young, as a teenager, and went straight into teaching English Language Arts and Reading. I could have taught high school, but I chose middle school, partly because some of the seniors were older than me. Back then my students were reading Twilight, The Hunger Games and, as always, Harry Potter.
As a kid I won a lot of creative writing competitions, and math ones too, because apparently my brain likes to keep things even. Writing was always my favorite subject and my favorite hobby. I just didn't let myself chase it until life was more settled.
Since then I've raised a handful of sweet little humans and built and sold businesses with my husband. Writing books is the first thing that uses both halves of my brain at once: the stories, and the business of getting them to you.
Belladine Bonewell is a pen name.

by the way
A few other things
Organic, mostly
I'm obsessed with eating organic. I'm also obsessed with organic sweets. A lot.
Every color
I've had almost every hair color under the sun.
Rescues, always
I love rescue dogs and rescue cats.
The animals are real
I've owned almost every animal on the ranch in the story, except the cattle. Mr. LostJaw was a real rooster of mine, missing a big piece of his beak, and my family loved him so much. He's probably in Heaven with a full beak now. I sort of hope not. He was fabulous.
Shot at home
A lot of the landscape photos and footage on this site and on social media came off my own property in the Hill Country.
Licensed, quietly
I'm licensed to sell real estate in three states. I won't say which. I really don't like being salesy.

Place shapes story
Limestone. Cedar.
Dark water.
I live in the Texas Hill Country. The town in the books isn't real, but the land is, and so was the spark: Comfort's cryonics castle and its Timeship. Drive past it once and tell me you wouldn't want to write a book about it.
